ARNOUD HERREMANS

Arnoud is a psychologist by training, he holds a PhD in Neuroscience and is experienced in pharmaceutical research as researcher and manager.

During his years as department head Pharmacology he became fascinated by Operational Excellence and Lean management. In that period he developed and introduced Lean thinking in the department he was leading. He achieved great improvements in productivity but what struck him most was the enhancement of ownership and entrepreneurial drive he saw within the teams. People really started to flourish.

Excited as he was about what he saw he felt urged to bring continuous improvement to other teams and in other organizations as well.

In 2012 he founded Y47 consultancy. Y47 brings continuous improvement, quality culture development and Innovation Excellence to Life Science and Chemical organizations, locally in The Netherlands as well as globally.

What makes Y47 stand out is the constant focus on the interplay between tools, processes and systems on the one hand and behavior of leaders and employees on the other. Only when both are developed in harmony true lasting progress can be made.

Based on positive feedback and compassion Y47 builds, together with leaders and their employees, an environment where people can flourish.

Lean’ is a matter of motivation and understanding how and why. What’s in it for the people and what is the significance for the organization? A true interest in the person behind the organization and a keen eye for business and personal needs. That’s how I characterize Arnoud and the way he works. Thus leading to the development of a sustainable lean mind set that is given life by the employees.

For more than 2 years, Arnoud and I worked together on the journey to transform his discovery department into an agile organization able to bring innovation to the company. Arnoud is a very enthusiastic and inventive person who is always looking for new ways to improve the performance of his team. With his enormous energy and personal drive he is able to empower people in such a way that they are able to grow in their professional role to attribute to the companies goals. Arnoud is a powerful source of ideas, and even more important, he is able to exchange his ideas for better ones.
It still is a great pleasure for me to work with him.
