ARNOUD HERREMANS

I am a psychologist by training and hold a PhD in Neuroscience and am experienced in pharmaceutical research as researcher and manager.

During my years as department head Pharmacology I became fascinated by Operational Excellence and Lean management. In that period I started to develop Lean in the department I was leading. Here, I not only witnessed great improvements in productivity but also an enhancement of ownership and entrepreneurial drive within the team. People really started to flourish.

Excited as I was about what I saw I decided to bring continuous improvement available to other research teams and organizations.

This resulted in the consultancy firm Y47 (founded when I was 47 years of age) which brings continuous improvement and Innovation Excellence to Life Science and Chemical organizations where research is an important part of their work.
Based on positive feedback and compassion I build, together with the employees, an environment where people can flourish.

Lean’ is a matter of motivation and understanding how and why. What’s in it for the people and what is the significance for the organization? A true interest in the person behind the organization and a keen eye for business and personal needs. That’s how I characterize Arnoud and the way he works. Thus leading to the development of a sustainable lean mind set that is given life by the employees.
